ABOUT ME

I began my Land Survey career at DMACC in August 2005. I graduated with an AAS degree in the Land Survey program in May of 2007. From there, I took a survey crew chief position at a civil engineering firm in northeast Kansas. While I was in Kansas, I gained a large amount of experience working with the US Army Corp of Engineers at Fort Riley Army Base, the Kansas Dept of Transportation, and several municipalities all across the state. I left Kansas and moved back to Iowa in 2011 where I continued working as a crew chief for a civil engineering firm with a more nationwide presence. Working with that firm allowed me to survey in nearly every state from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains and from Texas to North Dakota. After almost six years with that company, I had the opportunity to take a Surveyor position with the City of Des Moines in 2017 that allowed me to work in the public sector and gain even more valuable experience. Everything I have learned over the past 18 years has enabled me to become a licensed Land Surveyor in Iowa, Kansas, and Wisconsin. In addition to state licensures, I received my Certified Federal Surveyor certificate in 2025 that allows me the opportunity to work directly with multiple different federal agencies on all federal interest ground located within the states I am currently licensed. My ultimate goal when I graduated from college was to be able to open my own Land Surveying company, which I accomplished in August of 2018.
